We are delighted to be taking part in the 2022 Culture Date with Dublin 8 May Weekender.
The Culture Date with Dublin 8 May Weekender will run from Saturday 14 - Sunday 15 of May, 2022.
Now in it's fourth year, the event celebrates the postal district of D8 as one of Ireland’s top cultural destinations.
As part of the festival we will be hosting two special events at Richmond Barracks. On Saturday 14 May, 2022 at 11am Historian-in-Residence for Children Dervilia Roche will be hosting the in-person workshop 'What Was There Before Inchicore?' for kids aged 9-12 years old.
Then at 3pm we will be celebrating the launch of two creative Dublin 8 projects; ‘Illuminations’, the first anthology of writing from the Richmond Barracks Writers Group; and 'Home Truths', a graphic short story based on engagement with residents at the Croft and Hollybrook Lodge nursing homes in Inchicore, with illustrator and author Alan Dunne.
We hope you will drop by and celebrate all things Dublin 8 with us.
Culture Date with Dublin 8 is a neighbourhood initiative, which aims to celebrate Dublin 8’s rich cultural, historical and architectural heritage while encouraging people who are living, working and visiting the area to explore what's on their doorstep. The May Weekender gives you the opportunity to do just that. View the full programme and book your tickets below.
This initiative is supported and developed by Dublin City Council, Fáilte Ireland, Liberties Dublin, Richmond Barracks, The OPW, IMMA - Irish Museum of Modern Art, Glasnevin Trust, Christchurch Cathedral, St Patrick’s Cathedral, Marsh’s Library, The National Archives, The Edward Worth Library and Dublinia.
