Details of our workshops in February and March 2025

Many of our workshops for February and March 2025 will open for bookings one month in advance. To make them easier for you to book, we have listed when booking opens below.

Bookings that will open on 21 January:

• Introduction to Watercolour Painting on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Join visual artist Michele Hetherington to explore the exciting possibilities of watercolour painting.
• Building Living Willow Structures - Learn how to make large-scale living structures with willow with our Eco-Gardener in Residence Polly Rowley-Sams.

Bookings that will open on 28 January:

• Seed Swap and Community Garden Meet Up - Join in to swap seeds, share gardening tips, talk about the community garden, drink tea and spend time in the garden together.
• Make a Botanical Relief - Learn how to use plaster and local plants to create your own unique decorative botanical relief.
• Online Book Club: 'Earth' by John Boyne - The Richmond Barracks online book club is held on the last Thursday of every month, via Zoom.

 

 
Bookings that will open on 4 February:

• Create Garden Habitats - Join Eco Gardener in Residence Polly Rowley-Sams to learn how to create nature-friendly habitats for insects and animals.
  
  

Bookings that will open on 5 February:

• Céilí Mór Dún Richmond - Join us for a night of music, dance and fun led by céilí caller and sean nós dancer Louise O’Connor

Bookings that will open on 7 February:

• Creative Drama for Beginners - Have you ever thought of trying some acting, or would you like a space to be creative and express yourself?
  
  

Bookings that will open on 8 February:

• Family Céilí Disco - Have fun dancing simple céilí dances, followed by some disco dances, to get all ages stamping, shuffling and practicing their haon, dó, trí’s.
  
  

Bookings that will open on 11 February:

• Oíche Cluichí! / Games Night! - Join us for a fun night of playing board games in Irish. All levels of Irish are welcome, from beginners to fluent. This event is family friendly and all ages and abilities are welcome.
• Dance Delights - Try out different styles of dance every week. Move your body, meet new people and have some fun.
• People, Places and Times past: An introduction to Researching Local History - In these workshops, led by historian Dr Declan Brady, you will learn how to do your own local history research. 
  
  

Bookings that will open on 12 February:

• Felting: Making Art from Wool - Explore the art of felt making with visual artist and maker Niki Collier.
  
  

 Bookings that will open on 27 February:

• Online Book Club: 'Ghost Mountain' by Ronan Hession - The Richmond Barracks online book club is held on the last Thursday of every month, via Zoom.
