Dublin Maker returns to Richmond Barracks

Some of the Makers and inventors this year include:

• The Morning Clock - an innovative way to manage your morning routine
• Louise Swords Modelling Clay - Non-messy air-drying modelling clay and the exciting launch of a completely new crayon concept.
• Change Clothes Crumlin - a community based clothing reuse hub and frequent workshop facilitator at Richmond Barracks
• RS Ireland - RS is a global distributer of industrial and electronic products
• Knotiverse – Exploring games, puzzles and creative art
• Irish Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers, demonstrate and explain the processes involved in spinning Irish wool and other fibre into yarn, in weaving textiles from yarn, and in dyeing fibre, yarn and cloth
• Makermeet - formed as a response to educators looking for practical skills in Maker education and project-based learning.
• iGrow is an Artificial intelligence powered mobile application that helps millennials and gen z grow healthy indoor plants.
• Bricxology - The Brickx Club is a creative brick building and social activity club for girls and boys.
• PrintLab - PrintLab provides a unique, inclusive and creative space at the National Print Museum for children and families to participate in hands-on workshops, which aim to provide them with an understanding of the historical, social and contemporary relevance of letterpress printing as a tool for communication.

There will also be a repair café run by TOG Hackerspace.  The café is a community gathering place where people can bring their broken items, such as appliances, clothing, bicycles, or electronics, to be repaired by skilled volunteers for free. The idea behind repair cafes is to promote sustainability and reduce waste by encouraging people to repair and reuse their belongings instead of throwing them away.

There will also be a number of Workshops on each day. These include:

• Make Clever Cardboard Creations with Makermeet - Using special reusable Scru’s and child-friendly tools, participants can make a variety of different objects such as buildings, robots and more! At the end of the workshop, participants can take away their creations and reusable tools! 
• Sustainable Saturdays: Reuse and repair social - join the team from Change Clothes Crumlin to try out different ways to upcycle old clothes into new treasures! 
• "The Connective Detective - Build Your Own Smart City." - this engaging, hands-on experience invites participants to explore the concept of smart cities in a fun and imaginative way.
• Make a Lighthouse Paper Circuit with Makermeet - in this workshop, participants will create a circuit to light an LED in a card - all on paper.

Dublin Maker’s mission is to entertain, inform and connect the makers of Ireland, while inspiring the next generation of Ireland’s makers and inventors.
