Biodiversity Walking Tour

Join our Eco-Gardener in Residence Polly Rowley-Sams for this Biodiversity Walk to discover the ecology of the local area and the surprising flora and fauna found within it.

Get a close-up view of the ecology of the local area. Using magnifying lenses you will be exploring nature up close - prepare to discover some unexpected wonders!

The execution of the 1916 leaders was an important moment in the history of Richmond Barracks. It was here the court martial took place.

Join our tour guides to commemorate the life of the leaders of the Easter Rising. You'll walk in the footsteps of the 1916 leaders as they went to their deaths in Kilmainham Gaol following the cursory court-martial at Richmond Barracks.

Thursdays and Saturdays, 11 am to 12.15 pm

Walk in the footsteps of the 1916 leaders as they went to their deaths in Kilmainham Gaol. 

Learn about the police and military riot on Emmet Road during the 1913 lock-out and how six young lads from Inchicore fought for democracy in the Spanish Civil War. You will hear of the malevolent doings of the Sham Squire and how ‘Carey told on Skin the Goat’.

Thursdays and Saturdays, 1 pm to 2.15 pm

Goldenbridge Cemetery is Ireland's first garden cemetery and was founded by ‘the Liberator’ Daniel O’Connell almost 200 years ago. 

Visitors will be guided through this unspoilt cemetery and learn about its unique history, including the vaults, the armed guards, the Cuban bloodhounds, the body snatchers and the people buried in the historically significant and interesting graves within its walls.
