This talk by Liam O'Meara focuses on the life and times of Irish poet and soldier Francis Ledwidge. Ledwidge himself has a connection with Richmond Barracks as he was stationed here as a Lance Corporal prior to his involvement in the First World War.
Liam O’Meara is chairman of the Inchicore Ledwidge Society. He has devoted many years to gathering lost works of the poet and discovering new information about his life. In addition to his books on Francis Ledwidge, Liam has written a trilogy of books on old Dublin and a number of local history books, including: Who Remembers Keogh Square and From Richmond Barracks to Keogh Square. He was a member of the Richmond Barracks renovation advisory board.
