Join the Festivities at Richmond Barracks Christmas Fair: A Celebration of the Season's Splendor

As the winter chill sets in and the festive spirit fills the air, the Richmond Barracks Christmas Fair invites everyone to revel in the magic of the season. This eagerly awaited free event, renowned for highlighting the best in local crafts, design, art, and culinary delights, will take place on Saturday and Sunday, 9 and 10 December, from 11 am to 5 pm.
Richmond Barracks in Inchicore has become synonymous with community engagement and cultural enrichment. The Christmas Fair is no exception, promising a weekend brimming with activities and offerings suitable for all ages.
Visitors can immerse themselves in the world of creativity through free drop-in workshops featuring skilled artisans. Learn the art of felting from Niki Collier, explore the history of the winter solstice with Dublin’s Historian-in-Residence for Children Dervilia Roche and Richmond Barracks Eco-Gardener-in-Residence Polly Rowley-Sams, or engage in Christmas card quilting with artist Monika Kowalska.

Over 35 vendors will participate in this year's fair, allowing you to buy some thoughtful Christmas gifts. An array of clothing, crafts, design, art, jewellery, hampers, gift sets, vouchers, and more will be on sale.
When you work up an appetite, food and drink vendors are ready to quell your hunger and quench your thirst. We also have lots of great entertainment to keep the festive feeling going over the weekend.
Accessibility: Our building is wheelchair and buggy-accessible, ensuring everyone can join in on the fun!
Bring Your Dogs: We're pet-friendly! Bring your furry friends along for a day of enjoyment.

The Christmas Fair at Richmond Barracks spotlights food, design, and crafting, marking the third in a series of fairs for 2023, brought to you by Dublin City Council Culture Company. These quarterly fairs celebrate the quality and creativity of small businesses, craftspeople, makers, and social enterprises abundant in the local area, promoting culture, creativity, and conversation. Through the Culture Company’s Culture Connects @ Richmond Barracks programme, there will be opportunities for people to attend cultural/creative workshops during the fairs and learn about our annual programme for repeat visits for other cultural and creative adventures.
