Tóraíocht na Staire Ceilte - Hidden Histories Hunt

Tá ár Tóraíocht na Staire Cheilte ar fáil i nGaeilge agus i mBéarla - íoslódáil do chóip thíos.

An bhfuil do chuid leanaí fiosrach faoi ailtireacht agus faoi stair na bhfoirgneamh, na sráideanna agus na ndroichead i mBaile Átha Cliath? Má tá, agus má thaitníonn sé leo a bheith gníomhach, is an-ghníomhaíocht é seo don teaghlach uilig.

Íoslódáil an léarscáil thíos, lean an cosán agus scaoil na noda chun ainm na taisce nach raibh tásc ná tuairisc uirthi le fada a fháil amach.

Chruthaigh Staraí Cónaithe do Leanaí Chomhairle Cathrach Bhaile Átha Cliath Dervilia Roche, in éineacht le maisitheoir Deadly! Irish History John Farrelly, an ‘Tóraíocht Startha Ceilte’ seo, tóraíocht taisce faoi do threoir féin do leanaí i gCathair Bhaile Átha Cliath.

Is féidir leat na treoracha a íoslódáil saor in aisce agus priontáil dhaite nó liathscála a dhéanamh go héasca anseo:

Tá an tóraíocht taisce ar fad taobh amuigh, seachas an túsphointe. Níl gá le táillí iontrála. Trasnaíonn roinnt codanna an bhealaigh tríd páirceanna, a d’fhéadfadh a bheith dúnta sa tráthnónta.

Baineann siúlóid 3km leis an tóraíocht ón túsphointe go dtí an pointe deiridh agus glacann sé thart ar 1.5 uair an chloig le críochnú. Tá na ceisteanna oiriúnach do leanaí atá 9-12 d’aois, ach beidh ar dhaoine fásta cúnamh a thabhairt leis na treoracha. Tá an stop deiridh gar do stadanna an bhus agus an Luas, nó is siúlóid dhíreach timpeall 2km í ar ais go dtí an túsphointe.

Léaráidí agus dearadh le John Farrelly.

Are your children curious about the architecture and history of Dublin’s buildings, streets and bridges? If so, and if they like to be active, this is a great activity for all the family to do.

Download the map below, follow the trail and solve the clues to find the name of a long-lost treasure.

Dublin City Council’s Historian in Residence for Children Dervilia Roche, with illustrator John Farrelly of Deadly! Irish History, created this ‘Hidden Histories Hunt’, a self-guided treasure hunt for children in Dublin City.

You can download the instructions for free in colour or printer-friendly grayscale here:

The treasure hunt is all outdoors, except for the starting point. No admission fees are needed. Some parts of the route cross through parks, which may be closed in the evenings.

The hunt involves a 3km walk from the start point to the finish point and takes approximately 1.5 hours to complete. The questions are suitable for children aged 9-12, but grown-ups will need to help with directions. The final stop is close to bus and Luas stops, or is approximately 2km direct walk back to the start point.
